In light of the impact and changes caused by the novel COVID19, we want to ensure and reassure you that we are focused round-the-clock on the health and safety of all our guests, and employees, without compromising the high standards and quality of your experience, that you have come to know, love and expect in your every stay with us.
Considering the rapidly evolving COVID19 situation locally, regionally and internationaly, Le Grand Courlan Spa Resort is taking standards for hygiene and cleanliness very seriously, as well as additional steps to ensure the safety of our guests and staff members.
We are adopting all the published standard recommendations and following the authority’s regulations to reduce exposure to and transmission of a range of illnesses, which include hand and respiratory hygiene, and safe food, practices. As set out by the of World Health Organization (WHO) and local Ministry of Health authorities and HACCP.
All our teams and staff members are adhering to the latest guidance and hygiene protocols. We will continue to monitor the situation closely to ensure the safety of each one of you; we will keep updating this communication regularly. We are doing our utmost best to provide you with a safe and healthy stay at Le Grand Courlan Spa Resort.

HOW WE ARE PREPARING FOR YOU TO VISIT
In preparation of reopening and for the assurance of staff and guests alike we are pleased to provide the following Hygiene, Health and Safety Measures that we have developed based on National and international guidelines. While these guidelines are valid at time of printing it is important to note that the COVID19 measures, rules regulations and protocols continue to be fluid and change based on the Directive of the Government of Trinidad and Tobago.
The fluidity, ongoing evolution, interpretation and execution of the guidelines will be key to our success that we show our guests that their welfare has been taken care of. Precautions are designed to help our resort and its staff comprehend, plan and mitigate the impact of the COVID19 pandemic. The below measures contain clear information and recommendations on adjusting operational procedures.
The Management and Staff at Le Grand Courlan Spa Resort are working with International Hygiene & Safety audit guidelines in the field of hotel risk management to implement the highest level of care and attention to these guidelines. Signage and awareness will play a pivotal role with information and instructions of how to prevent the pandemic spread is posted throughout the resort.
General Disinfection & Hygiene for Resort: Under the COVID19 outbreak general disinfection procedures are done with special consideration given to the application of cleaning and sanitation measures in all resort areas. We disinfect frequently the building entrances, public areas, rooms, back of the house areas, vehicles and special attention is given to high touch areas.
Human Resources & Staff Training: On-going Training programs based on supporting Staff are held on regular basis for all hotel’s employees. They include all measures, precautions, procedures, recommendations how to handle the situation professionally and how to protect our staff members and our guests.
Check -In, Front Desk & Reception: Guests will be required to wear masks at all times while on property, social distancing is in effect and laid out with stickers and signage, staff have been made aware of these Guests regulations and instructed to enforce the guidelines. Temperature checks will be conducted at Check-In, at Entrance to Restaurants at mealtimes and recorded on guests Hand sanitizer has been provided in all public areas. All public bathrooms are equipped with anti-bacterial hand soap and tissues.
Guest Rooms: Having a clean and sanitized hotel room is important under normal circumstances but with Coronavirus cases mounting in the world, it is crucial we enforce stricter guidelines and cleaning methods to protect our guests and staff from COVID-19. The provision of steam machines and electrostatic units, disinfection solutions and resting rooms for 24 hours are all part of or process. A number of amenities and service items have been removed based on high touch point guidance including but not limited to guest directories, coffee and tea stations, magazines books, guides and maps.
Dining: Different measures from food preparation to dining experience have been implemented to ensure food hygiene safety. Set menus and a la carte menus to replace the standard open buffets, by maintaining the highest levels of cleaning across our buffets. Dining tables and chairs removed for social distancing and are sanitized with designated disinfectant before serving new guests, so our guests can find a pleasant and safe dining experience at all restaurants. Along with hand sanitizer in public areas has been provided. Guests Traveling with family will be limited to tables of (10) Ten in any of our outlets.
Restaurant Reservations (Required) Guests will be required to make reservations for all meals. Confirmation can be done via email email@example.com, calling 639-9667 or 1600 in Resort.
Hotel Leisure Facilities, Spa Shops, Dive Operations & Public Areas: personal hygiene facilities as hand soaps and hand sanitizers. Maintaining social distance and remind guest of hand sanitizer before leaving.
- The Spa will function under strict guidelines and by appointment only and limited treatments.
- The Gym will be be aviablabe for use also by appointment only with a maximum on 8 people in the facility at a time, book you slot in advance.
- Pool and Pool Bar Sanitizing the pool area and keeping at least a 6-feet distance between each pair of sunbeds, alternated pool bar seats are marked.
Maintenance, Safety & Security: All hotel equipment and facilities have been sanitized, air-conditioning and water disinfection process are strictly applied. Maintenance of pest control, fire and food safety.
Suppliers: Suppliers of goods and services as well as contractors follow safe systems of work to prevent the spread of COVID-19. Good communication with suppliers to secure all the required supplies.
In Case of an Infected Person at the Hotel: The realization of an ill guest will be reported to the authorities and will be isolated in a room on a temporary basis until the intervention of a hotel doctor or local health authorities, and provided the room is not shared with other guests. No visitors should be permitted to enter the room occupied.
Required Equipment: This includes; face masks, gloves, thermometers, hand sanitizer/gel, disinfectants for all departments. High Temperature Steam machine, electrostatic units for sanitization and floor markings for any place where social distance is required. Public area signage for guests and staff alike.
Application of the Protocol: The property and its staff are required to apply this protocol which is based on WHO, CDC and the Trinidad and Tobago Ministry of Health’s (MOH) instructions.
